Historical Society
The Administration Division's purpose is to administer the Society in the most efficient and responsive manner to achieve its goals and meet the needs of its constituents and staff. The Society is an independent Nebraska state agency that is directly governed by a fifteen-member board of trustees. The Society is also a membership organization. Members elect twelve trustees, four from each of the state's three congressional districts, to staggered three-year terms. Three trustees are appointed by the governor, one from each congressional district. Nominations are made by a board-appointed nominating committee.
